"All I can say is you have to try this place while visiting! Everything was great; staff, servers, food, drinks, and the facility! I believe our server was Mike and he was awesome and caring! If you can make it in the morning before the rush comes in, this place is a must do kind of place! Best breakfast in town with everything tasting homemade and didn’t have to wait long at all! Family of 4 and we were in and out of the restaurant within an hour!"
"This restaurant was our favorite of our whole trip to the area! I want to make another trip to TN just to eat here. I cannot even explain how delicious the food was. Kids are picky about their mac and cheese and said this place was the best! I definitely bought some food from the store next door to cook at home after eating here. We waited almost an hour for a table, the place was packed and it was 100% worth the wait. Also, you can buy food at the store next door to feed the geese outside! Place was super cute and a whole experience."
"We had such a great experience at The Old Mill Restaurant. Looked up best places to eat in the area as we’re visiting our OOT. We went on a Monday afternoon, and the wait was very reasonable, about 20 minutes. The best part was being able to spend that time shopping in the Old Mill Country Store, and they call your party name over the intercom, which made it easy and stress-free. We actually tried to go the day before (Sunday), but the wait was over an hour, so I’d highly recommend a weekday visit if you can. Ended up settling to eat at Five Oaks Farm Kitchen…whomp whomp—- (will review later). Old Mill is WAY better. We had a party of 7 and were seated at a beautiful corner table facing the water, which made the experience even more special. Service was prompt, friendly, and attentive from start to finish. The food was absolutely incredible. We ordered catfish, chicken pot pie, liver, and country-fried steak. The kids had fried chicken and grilled cheese, and everything was a hit. Every adult entrée came with corn chowder (hands down the best I’ve ever had) and hush puppies that were out of this world, especially with their sweet butter. The meal also included mashed potatoes and green beans with ham, all cooked perfectly and full of flavor. Everything tasted homemade, comforting, and generous—- true Southern cooking done right. We left full, happy, and already talking about coming back. Will absolutely return!"
For the best chance to avoid long waits, visit in the morning before the rush or during a weekday afternoon.
Consider visiting on a weekday afternoon for a significantly shorter wait time compared to busy weekends. Utilize the wait time to browse the Old Mill Country Store next door; they'll call your party over the intercom. Don't miss the opportunity to purchase food from the store to feed the geese outside.
